60 Plus Association Team Collaborates With Senate Special Committee on Aging

Led by Founder/Chairman Jim Martin, the DC Team of the 60 Plus Association met with the Staff Director of the Senate Special Committee on Aging and their staff.

Our team discussed how we can work with the Committee on a variety of issues and expressed our concerns and observations regarding important issues affecting seniors.

We covered a wide array of topics that included killing the Death Tax, protecting Social Security & Medicare, SEC transparency issues, IRA/retirement account issues and more.

Staff Director Neri Martinez later gave us a tour of their offices and introduced us to the various staff members on the Committee.

The Senate Special Committee on Aging was first established in 1961 as a temporary committee. It was granted permanent status on February 1, 1977.  Over the years, the Committee has been in the thick of the debate on issues of central concern to older Americans. As the baby boom generation begins to retire en masse, the work of the Special Committee on Aging has only just begun.
