Rumors Flying that the Swamp May Betray Seniors

The Chairman’s Blog 12/5/17

Troubling rumors are swirling in the Swamp that Congress may allow the Obamacare health insurance tax on Medicare to return in 2018.

60 Plus has been campaigning on this issue because this tax hits seniors especially hard. Scheduled to return on January 1, 2018, this currently suspended Obamacare tax would hit senior couples enrolled in Medicare Advantage with $500 in higher health care costs starting January 1, 2018. Seniors with Medicare Part D would also see their costs increase. All told, 40 million American seniors would get harmed by the return of this stealthy Obamacare tax.

Even more disturbing, there’s talk that Congress may actually suspend the health insurance tax, but not until 2019 and only for people in the failing Obamacare exchanges. Only in the Swamp would it make sense to provide relief for Obamacare coverage but stick it to seniors who worked and paid into Medicare their whole lives.

Tax increases on Medicare plus special favors for Obamacare equals a bad deal for America’s seniors in 2018.

Congress needs to know that conservative seniors are watching closely and will not stand for any attempt to exclude seniors from relief from the looming Obamacare health insurance tax on their Medicare coverage. Seniors have long memories and they vote in larger numbers than any other age group! Seniors are paying attention, seniors are organized, and they will remember on Election Day in 2018.

Drain the Swamp! Call your members of Congress today and tell them to stop the 2018 Obamacare health insurance tax on Medicare!
