60 Plus: Union Bosses Use Workers’ Dues to Fund Lawfare, Not Jobs

Alexandria, VA – The 60 Plus Association today warned that union leadership has strayed from representing working Americans, instead using their dues to bankroll partisan attacks against President Trump and his supporters.

A new report from Americans for Limited Government, Union Bosses vs. MAGA, exposes how millions in mandatory dues have been redirected to support progressive causes and officials prosecuting the President. The data show that nearly 90 percent of union political donations go to Democrats — even as the rank-and-file workforce overwhelmingly backs Trump’s America First agenda.

“This is political corruption disguised as worker advocacy,” said Saul Anuzis, President of 60 Plus. “Union bosses are pouring money into open-border politicians and anti-Trump prosecutors while their members struggle with inflation and shrinking paychecks.”

The report highlights that unions contributed hundreds of thousands of dollars to Manhattan DA Alvin Bragg and New York AG Letitia James, both of whom have led politically motivated prosecutions against Trump. At the same time, union leadership has opposed the very policies — tax relief, energy independence, and border security — that directly benefit working Americans.

“Union bosses have abandoned their members for political power,”  Jim Martin, Chairman of 60 Plus, said. “Instead of protecting jobs, they’re funding lawfare. Instead of defending wages, they’re defending the Democratic Party.”

60 Plus, which advocates for seniors and working-class Americans, urged Congress and state legislatures to require full disclosure of union political spending and protect workers’ rights to choose how their dues are spent.

“The rank-and-file deserve transparency and freedom,” said Anuzis. “It’s time to end the union bosses’ monopoly on workers’ money and restore accountability to the labor movement.”
