Liberal Policies Destroying America – from the Economy, Race Baiting, to Open Borders!

Liberal Policies Killing the Middle Class: A stunning simple explanation of what liberal policies are doing to America and its middle class…those of us who have to work for a living.

It is that they all demonstrate ways that Democratic policies make the American dream unattainable for an ever-larger number of people. Left-liberals are excluding vast swathes of the population from basic comforts that people have long taken for granted — in these particular cases, personal safety, transportation, and access to reliable, cheap energy.

The result, ironically, is precisely the dystopia of inequality that Democrats suggest they care about. Thanks to their bad ideas, the wealthy are buying new automobiles, stocking up on generators, and paying small fortunes for private security, while ordinary people face more dangerous streets, desperately try to keep decades-old cars on the road, and pay significantly higher electrical bills for increasingly unreliable power.

The lead article tells the story of how “Democrats’ policies lead to a world sharply divided between haves and have-nots and in which middle-class families must pay double or triple prices for comforts that their parents.

Race Baiting: Biden and the Democrats continuous use of race baiting is NOT healthy or helpful in moving our country forward. Its little more than cheap political theater that divides America and gives an excuse to many to engage in violence under the cover of racism.

Yes, there is racism in America…coming from many angles…against blacks, Asians, whites, Hispanics, Muslims, etc.

However, we have also come a long way and the overwhelming majority of Americans are welcoming, tolerant, understanding, and accepting of the fact that we are a pluralistic society in the most free, accepting, and tolerant country in the world.

Biden and the radical Democrats are NOT helping. The idea that ‘white supremacy is the greatest threat to America’ is absurd.

Rather than engaging in efforts to unite our country and encourage greater tolerance and acceptance, Biden Democrats try to demonize society for political gain.

This is shameful and wrong.

Border Czar: So, Madam Vice President…your Administration’s open borders policy has caused chaos across our country. What say you?

As thousands of illegal migrants storm the border, wreaking havoc as we witness a historic surge at the cost of President Biden’s lax open border policies, Border Czar Vice President Kamala Harris is attending fundraisers and cocktail receptions. YET she is nowhere to be seen or heard from on the border crisis.

As for President Biden, he’s off to his vacation home for another weekend of bike riding while illegal immigrants flood across his open borders and the budget crisis looms larger by the hour.

The Red Wave That Wasn’t: Below is an excellent analysis of what happened in the 2022 elections. Other factors, such as the quality of the candidates & message mattered, but the article below “Mystery at the Midterm: What Happened to the Red Wave” is worth the read and can by summarized here:

The last-minute nosedive of Republican fortunes was not about a change in the grand fundamentals of democratic elections. It was not about national conditions or issues, or about candidate quality or internal party divisions, and not about either Biden or Trump. The expectations of a Republican wave reflected public opinion, but their surprising fall from those expectations was not about public opinion at all. It was about the campaign system – the combined elements of mobilization-friendly and early mail-in balloting, large campaign organizations to gather the votes, and an enormous amount of money, all coming together for one party focused on a number of politically important races in competitive states. In many ways, it might be characterized as a 21st century incarnation of the machine politics of the late 19th and early 20th centuries.

Republicans in 2022 were caught flat-footed in securing reasonable limits to easy/early mail-in voting and were badly outspent by Democrats who used the rules and their resources for rounding up enough votes in the right places to block the red wave. As George Washington Plunkitt, a late 19th century leader of the legendary Tammany Hall political machine, might have said about those running the 21st century version of political machines: ‘They seen their opportunities and they took ’em.’

Liberal policies are making the American dream unaffordable

ee if you can figure out what these three news stories have in common.

First, high-profile political efforts to defund and demoralize entire police forces are giving rise to an unlikely anarcho-capitalist trend. Police are retiring or leaving the profession in droves, and their former departments are failing to recruit new officers in many major cities, thanks mostly to the profound antipathy shown toward the police by elected officials. Meanwhile, wealthy people are increasingly hiring their own pricey private security to protect themselves, their possessions, and their businesses. As a result, private security officers now outnumber police by more than 50%.

Second, new cars have become unaffordable for ordinary people , with the national average sales price hitting $48,000. Part of the problem has been a recent chip shortage that made cheaper vehicles less profitable to produce. But even as that problem recedes, high prices are sticking thanks to government policies. This includes federal Corporate Average Fuel Economy standards, a Cash for Clunkers program that destroyed 677,000 perfectly good cars, many of which would otherwise still be around today driving down new car prices, and government regulations that require unnecessary and expensive features, such as video displays and backup cameras.

The result? Cars have become supercomputers on wheels, and the cost to own a new one has risen from less than 30% of the real median household income in 1995 to 59% in 2023. Just wait until everyone is forced, as California aspires to do, to purchase even more expensive electric vehicles.

This policy-driven rise in prices is creating a growing gap between those who can buy new cars and those who cannot. The bottom quintile of earners, the Washington Post reported, spent less on new cars in 2021 than it had in 11 years, while the top quintile spent more than it has at any time since the government started tracking the data in 1984.

Third, green energy policies are making the nation’s electrical grid less reliable , prompting the wealthy to splurge on backup sources of power. The New York Times coverage feebly links generator-hoarding to “extreme weather linked to climate change.” But its own piece unavoidably admitted that “blackouts will hurt more people as Americans buy electric heat pumps and battery-powered cars to replace furnaces and vehicles that burn fossil fuels — a shift essential to limiting climate change.” In other words, the problem is climate change policy, such as electric vehicle mandates and grid-unfriendly alternatives to fossil fuels.

Blackouts due to bad weather have always been commonplace, but weather cannot explain why California, where the weather is almost always perfect, has more blackouts than any other state, head and shoulders above the rest. California, where severe storms are extremely rare, accounted for 24% of the nation’s blackouts in 2022 despite comprising less than 12% of the nation’s population. Californians also pay 80% more than the national average for their unreliable electricity, according to a recent University of California, Berkeley, study.

If you haven’t figured out the common theme between these three stories, it is that they all demonstrate ways that Democratic policies make the American dream unattainable for an ever-larger number of people. Left-liberals are excluding vast swathes of the population from basic comforts that people have long taken for granted — in these particular cases, personal safety, transportation, and access to reliable, cheap energy.

Mystery at the Midterm: What Happened to the Red Wave?

It was shocking, but even more puzzling. A consensus of commentators, pundits, pollsters, handicappers, and election forecasters (myself included) expected a strong Republican showing in the 2022 midterm – gains of anywhere from about 20 to more than 40 House seats and even small gains in the Senate and in governorships, despite defending majorities of seats up for those offices (21 of 35 Senate seats and 20 of 36 governorships).

Several observers predicted Republicans to win more House seats than at any time since the 1920s. A Republican red wave was anticipated. The only serious question was how big it would be. But what hit shore on Election Day was more of a weak ripple than a powerful wave, leaving behind the question: What caused this November surprise?

A Deep Dive Into the Red Wave

What follows is an investigation into what happened to that anticipated red wave. Since the analysis is involved and lengthy, this synopsis is provided up front. Both real and publicly perceived conditions before and up to Election Day provided all the ingredients for a very good Republican year. That red wave had formed, was within sight and headed to shore, but never made it. What happened? Extending the wave metaphor, Democrats constructed what amounted to a breakwater, effectively fending off the wave. It was particularly successful in about eight states with crucial tight races for statewide offices. Democrats built their breakwater from easy mail-in voting provisions, effective mobilization programs, and massive campaign spending to fuel the push. It succeeded because Republicans failed to counter it.

Of the many explanations offered for the Republicans’ stunning shortfall, this is the only one consistent with all the evidence, with the many forecasts and projections, and with established theories of midterm elections that could not have possibly anticipated the breakwater. The surprising result of the 2022 midterm was not a consequence of vox populi. It was the result of mobilization-friendly electoral systems, organization, and lots of money – essentially 21st century machine politics. That’s where this is headed; on to the evidence and analysis.

Why Are There so Many Militant Democrats?

As an engineer and scientist, I am never happy to accept “what is” but am always in pursuit of “why is it?”

For many years I have pondered why there are so many militant “ground troop” Democrats. These are the local people who constantly fight for liberal causes and are perpetually miserable as has been observed and discussed by many authors, citing just one here, but any internet search will reveal dozens more. These are the white people who contribute to BLM and march in their protests. These are the transgender activists (and probably not transgender themselves) who assaulted NCAA swimmer Riley Gaines when she spoke out opposing the inclusion of transgender athletes in women’s sports.

I differentiate these people from elected Democrats who have figured out how to “game” the system and obtain great wealth by assuming a liberal stance. Do they really believe the socialist propaganda that they espouse? Maybe, but one then must ask was David Koresh a real Christian or a person with natural skills to influence and manipulate people to satisfy his evil personal ambitions?

I also differentiate these people from what I call the “Democrat lemmings” who just go along to get along; voting Democrat because they always have, or because they are influenced by their family, associations, or media, none of which they have the mental courage or stamina to challenge. These people aren’t typically unhappy, they just aren’t terribly aware of the long-term consequences embedded in the liberal agenda, instead they believe what the media feeds them without question.  As a good friend of mine (a happy Democrat) once told me “Why would they lie?” Another very good friend of mine, another happy Democrat, while wearing his mask shouted at me “If we’d all just get the shot the pandemic would be over!”

Conservatives span a wide demographic spectrum, but are typically people with family, faith, and a sense of self-worth. Conservatives believe in personal responsibility, limited government, free markets, individual liberty, traditional American values, and a strong national defense. Conservatives believe in the constitutional role of government to provide people the freedom necessary to pursue their own goals. Conservatives believe it is up to the individual to solve problems, not the government. It is no wonder, then, that people with conservative values represent the majority of small business owners. CNN even admits that the vast majority of large public corporation CEOs contribute to Republican causes rather than Democrat. Another study finds that “American Billionaires Are Overwhelmingly Conservative.”

Why is that? The answer lies in the basic conservative premise of personal responsibility and accountability. An entrepreneur moves forward confidently in risky ventures not because of the promise of reward, but for the prospect of it. An entrepreneur does not expect to receive unemployment in a failed business venture, nor does he expect to get his money back even if he invested his life savings in it. A true entrepreneur does not accept handouts but instead figures out how to solve the problem.

US special counsel faults FBI’s handling of 2016 Trump-Russia probe

The FBI lacked “actual evidence” to investigate Donald Trump’s 2016 presidential campaign and relied too heavily on tips provided by Trump’s political opponents to fuel the probe, U.S. Special Counsel John Durham concluded in a report released on Monday.

The report marks the end of a four-year probe launched in May 2019 when then-Attorney General William Barr appointed Durham, a veteran prosecutor, to probe potential missteps by the FBI when it launched its early stage “Crossfire Hurricane” inquiry into potential contacts between Donald Trump’s 2016 presidential campaign and Russia.

That Crossfire Hurricane investigation would later be handed over to Special Counsel Robert Mueller, who in March 2019 concluded there was no evidence of a criminal conspiracy between Trump’s 2016 campaign and Russia.

In his new 306-page report, Durham concluded that U.S. intelligence and law enforcement did not possess any “actual evidence” of collusion between Trump’s campaign and Russia prior to launching Crossfire Hurricane.

He also accused the bureau of treating the 2016 Trump probe differently from other politically sensitive investigations, including several involving Trump’s Democratic rival Hillary Clinton.

For instance, he said Clinton and other officials received defensive briefings about being the possible targets of foreign interference, whereas Trump received no such briefing before the FBI opened probes into four members of his campaign.

“The Department and the FBI failed to uphold their important mission of strict fidelity to the law in connection with certain events and activities described in this report,” Durham wrote.

“Senior FBI personnel displayed a serious lack of analytical rigor towards the information that they received, especially information from politically affiliated persons and entities.”

‘Russia case’ against Trump was a shocking conspiracy that continues today

In Agatha Christie’s “Murder on the Orient Express,” detective Hercule Poirot observes, “The impossible could not have happened, therefore the impossible must be possible in spite of appearances.”

That may be the best summary of the findings of special prosecutor John Durham in his 305-page report issued yesterday.

Not only did the impossible happen, but they all did it: the Clinton campaign, the FBI, and the media.

In hindsight, it would appear impossible.

A political campaign hatches a plot to create a false claim of collusion between the Trump campaign and the Russian government.

Making this even more implausible is that the CIA and FBI know about the plot.

As detailed in the report, President Barack Obama and his national security team were briefed on how “a trusted foreign source” revealed “a Clinton campaign plan to vilify Trump by tying him to Vladimir Putin so as to divert attention from her own concerns relating to her use of a private email server.”

It then happened a few days later.

It was a plot that required everyone to take a hand in derailing a duly elected president and effectively shutting down his administration for three years of investigation and prosecutions.

In this conspiracy, there were dozens of key participants in the campaign, the government, and the media. Here are a few of the characters implicated in this report…

…Durham has laid out how the most cited claims were not supported, let alone corroborated. Indeed, he found there was no basis for this investigation to have been launched in the first place.

Yet, like in “Murder on the Orient Express,” all of the culprits were then let go.

Comey went on to make millions selling books and giving speeches on “ethical leadership.” Former FBI special agent Peter Strzok was given a job by CNN. Clinton general counsel Marc Elias is advising people on election ethics and running a group to “defend democracy.”

After all, this was a collective effort. In Washington, the more people involved in a conspiracy, the less culpable it becomes.

They all did it, so no one did.

When Trump-Russia wiretap was ‘dry hole,’ FBI wouldn’t stop digging

There’s an incredible amount of information in special counsel John Durham’s new 306-page report on the disastrous misdeeds and mistakes committed by the FBI and other government agencies in the Trump-Russia investigation. Here is one of many fascinating episodes.

People who follow the investigation are familiar with the case of Carter Page, who in 2016 was a short-term, low-level foreign policy adviser to Donald Trump’s presidential campaign. Page, who was trying to make it in the energy business, had had contacts with Russians before — he had actually helped U.S. agents investigate some Russian spies. In 2016, when Page was associated with the Trump campaign, some high-level FBI officials suspected Page was involved in a collusion plot between Russia and the Trump campaign.

That was completely wrong, and the FBI should have known it for at least two reasons. First, the bulk of the so-called incriminating information it had on Page came from the Steele dossier. That, you will recall, was a work of political opposition research from former British spy Christopher Steele, who, in the pay of the Hillary Clinton campaign and the Democratic National Committee, put together a collection of salacious untruths about a “well-developed conspiracy” between Trump and Russia. In Steele’s conspiracy fantasies, Page was a super-duper mastermind, which was unusual because people who knew Page would not describe him as a super-duper mastermind.

Investigate the Biden Family Corruption Allegations, Wherever They Lead

It’s way too soon for the media to dismiss it all as a GOP-cooked nothingburger. So distrust (if you must), but verify.

While everyone was focused on the E. Jean Carroll verdict, George Santos’ indictment, and CNN’s town hall with Donald Trump this week, allegations that the Biden family profited from their politically powerful patriarch (to the tune of millions of dollars) drew comparatively little attention.

We have long known that Hunter Biden, as well as Joe’s brothers (Frank and James), cashed in on their famous father and brother.

But a report released on Wednesday by House Oversight Chair James Comer ups the ante because it indicates that 1) the scope of family who profited is larger (including even Hallie Biden, Beau Biden’s widow, who was also linked to Hunter Biden), 2) the money came from foreign entities (including Chinese nationals and Romanian businessmen), and 3) some of the payments occurred while Joe Biden was serving as vice president.

These foreign sources, in some cases, appear to have laundered money through Biden associates, who then transferred a portion of that money into the accounts of Biden family members.

Sadly, familial payoffs are all too common and typically legal, as detailed in my forthcoming book, Filthy Rich Politicians. Often, it happens in a somewhat anodyne form. “We find that one really effective way for a corporation to do influence peddling without actually bribing a member of Congress is [to] hire the spouse,” Craig Holman, government affairs lobbyist for the consumer advocacy organization Public Citizen, told CBS News way back in 2012.

Amazingly, there’s nothing unprecedented about foreign governments attempting to play this same game at the highest levels. As Mother Jones’ David Corn notes, in 1980, President Jimmy Carter’s brother Billy “accepted $220,000 from the Libyans to develop what he called a ‘propaganda campaign’ to promote the foreign policy objectives of dictator Moammar Qaddafi.”

Despite the ubiquity of this corruption, you might think that such charges would arouse the interest of my fellow journalists—particularly considering these allegations involve the sitting president of the United States.

And mostly, you’d be wrong.

America’s state media: The blackout on Biden corruption is truly ‘Pulitzer-level stuff’

This week, Rep. Byron Donalds (R-Fla.) tried to do the impossible. After he and his colleagues presented a labyrinth of LLC shell companies and accounts used to funnel as much as $10 million to Biden family members, Donalds tried to induce the press to show some interest in the massive corruption scandal. “For those in the press, this easy pickings & Pulitzer-level stuff right here,” he pleaded.

The response was virtually immediate. Despite showing nine Biden family members allegedly receiving funds from corrupt figures in Romania, China and other countries, The New Republic quickly ran a story headlined “Republicans Finally Admit They Have No Incriminating Evidence on Joe Biden.”

For many of us, it was otherworldly. A decade ago, when then-Vice President Joe Biden was denouncing corruption in Romania and Ukraine and promising action by the United States, massive payments were flowing to his son Hunter Biden and a variety of family members, including Biden grandchildren.

Last year, I wrote a column about how the media were preparing a difficult “scandal implosion” to protect the Bidens and themselves from the backlash from disclosures of this influence peddling operation.

The brilliance of the Biden team was that it invested the media in this scandal at the outset by burying the laptop story as “Russian disinformation” before the election. That was, of course, false, but it took two years for most major media outlets to admit that the laptop was authentic.

But the media then ignored what was on that “authentic laptop.” Hundreds of emails detailed potentially criminal conduct and raw influence peddling in foreign countries.

When media outlets such as the New York Post confirmed the emails, the media then insisted that there was no corroboration of the influence peddling payments and no clear proof of criminal conduct. It entirely ignored the obvious corruption itself.

Now that the House has released corroboration in actual money transfers linking many in the Biden family, the media is insisting that this is no scandal because there is no direct proof of payments to Joe Biden.

The American Stasi and the war on the Supreme Court

The American Stasi is not giving up. They are now trying to topple the Supreme Court.

The last few weeks have seen an eruption of stories about the court, all of them focused on its conservative members. Justice Clarence Thomas has a rich friend who lets him ride on a private jet. Justice Neil Gorsuch sold a house. Liberals claimed that Justice Brett Kavanaugh’s background check wasn’t complete. And so on.

This is an organized attack.

The Left, frustrated that the bench is no longer advancing its policy priorities via judicial fiat, is trying to either expand the court or set up its own system of justice that trumps the Supreme Court. It’s similar to what the communist government of East Germany attempted during the Cold War.

In their comprehensive book The Stasi: Myth and Reality, scholars Mike Dennis and Norman Laporte examine the two systems of justice in Germany, made up of the “normative” and “prerogative” states.

The normative state was the outwardly appearing system of constitutional law. The prerogative state was the reality — a vast and corrupt bureaucracy filled with spies and jackboots and political actors who could toss people into jail for any reason. A woman named Ines Meichsner was sentenced to 10 months for “gross annoyance” because she was involved in the peace movement. Another peace activist, Uwe Kroker, was arrested for “gross rowdiness” for painting a peace sign on his door.

Biden blasted for calling ‘white supremacy’ ‘most dangerous terrorist threat’ at college speech: ‘Pure evil’

Conservative Twitter users ripped President Joe Biden for claiming that White supremacy is the “most dangerous terrorist threat” in America during a commencement address at Howard University this weekend.

Critics accused Biden of using the opportunity to inflame racial tension in the United States.

The 46th president addressed the graduates from the historical Black college at Washington D.C.’s Capital One Arena Saturday, speaking to them about the threats they face from the division among their own country.

Biden provided a line on White supremacy being the main threat to the nation including the graduates as they go forward with their lives after school.

After he hammered home the dangers of White supremacy, he assured his audience he wasn’t just saying that because he was at a Black school.

At the beginning of his statement Biden talked about America’s battle with racism from the time of its inception, saying, “We know American history has not always been a fairy tale. From the start, it’s been a constant push and pull for more than 240 years, between the best of us – the American ideal that we’re all created equal – and the worst of us, a harsh reality that racism has long torn us apart.”

“It’s a battle that’s never really over,” he said, adding, “But on the best days, enough of us have the guts and hearts to stand up for the best in us, to choose love over hate, unity over disunity, progress over retreat…”

Biden then zeroed in on White supremacy, saying, “…To stand against the poison of White supremacy as I did in my inaugural address.” He then called it “the most dangerous terrorist threat to our homeland.” The audience erupted in applause.

The Ominous Reason Why Biden Keeps Repeating His False Claim About a White Supremacist Threat

As Ben Bartee noted Saturday, Old Joe Biden’s commencement speech at Howard University “included a hearty condemnation of the alleged scourge of White Supremacy™ in America.” In fact, the alleged president called white supremacy “the most dangerous terrorist threat to our homeland.” Then on Sunday, Homeland Security Secretary and failed Disinformation Governance Board overlord Alejandro Mayorkas agreed with Old Joe, emphasizing that “domestic violent extremism is our greatest threat right now.” Many other Biden regime officials have said the same thing in the nearly two and a half years now that they have been inflicting themselves upon us. The reason why they keep making this false claim is clear and ominous.

At Howard, Biden first repeated his oft-stated lie that Donald Trump had called Nazis “fine people.” Then he said: “But on the best days, enough of us have the guts and the hearts to st — to stand up for the best in us. To choose love over hate, unity over disunion, progress over retreat. To stand up against the poison of white supremacy, as I did in my Inaugural Address — to single it out as the most dangerous terrorist threat to our homeland is white supremacy. And I’m not saying this because I’m at a black HBCU. I say it wherever I go.”

A “black HBCU”? As opposed to all the white historically black colleges and universities, Joe? But anyway, Old Joe’s lie about white supremacists being the nation’s biggest terror threat has also been repeated by Gestapo chief Merrick Garland and the FBI. In November 2021, FBI and Homeland Security Department officials increased investigations of “domestic extremists,” reiterating the claim that they are today’s foremost terror threat.

Yet no matter how often Biden and his henchmen repeat this, actual white supremacist terrorists in any significant numbers have been conspicuously lacking. Yet on MSNBC (of course) Sunday, “journalist” Jonathan Capehart perpetuated the myth, asking Mayorkas: “The president, yesterday at his commencement address for Howard University graduates, called white supremacy the major domestic terrorist threat in this country. Is that correct?”…

…This clumsy false-flag operation was widely exposed and ridiculed on Twitter, but conservative writer Chris Brunet pointed out: “What’s sad about this clip is that everyone here on my side of Twitter instantly knows this is a glowie/fed operation… pure theatre. But it is actually a really effective psyop, they keep doing it, because it works. Ask any normal person on the street, ask your mom, ask your sister, and they will be terrified of this clip and fall for it hook-line-and-sinker.”

Indeed they will. They still have no idea what game is being played. But as Old Joe’s henchmen continue to move to make it possible for only their point of view to be enunciated in the public square, their objectives will become obvious to everyone.

The Left’s 2020 ‘Fake Electors’ Narrative Is Fake News

The 2020 Georgia situation mirrors events of 60 years ago in Hawaii, revealing that everything the media have said about ‘fake electors’ is wrong.

Headlines recently proclaimed that eight of Trump’s “fake” electors accepted immunity deals. Of course, in reporting the news, the corporate outlets all missed the real story — that the electors’ testimony failed to incriminate anyone, including Trump, and that the county prosecutors engaged in massive misconduct. Equally appalling, however, was the corrupt media’s continued peddling of the “fake electors” narrative.

There were no “fake” electors. There were contingent Republican electors named consistent with legal precedent to preserve the still ongoing legal challenges to the validity of Georgia’s certified vote.

Nor was appointing an alternative slate of electors some cockamamie plan devised by Trump lawyers. On the contrary, Trump’s election lawyers and the contingent electors followed the precise approach Democrats successfully used when the date Congress established for certifying an election came before the legal challenges John F. Kennedy had brought in Hawaii were decided. And that approach allowed Kennedy to be certified the winner of Hawaii’s three electoral votes on Jan. 6, 1961, even though the Aloha State had originally certified Richard Nixon the victor.

The Hawaii scenario in 1960 mirrors in every material respect the facts on the ground in Georgia on Dec. 14, 2020 — the date both the Democrat and Republican presidential electors met and cast their 16 electoral votes for Joe Biden and Donald Trump respectively.

No, CNN, Trump Was Right

The Luzerne County, Pennsylvania, debacle of 2022 finishes the rigged-election debate.

The other day, former President Donald Trump sat down with CNN’s Kaitlan Collins for a town hall. When he brought up the idea that the 2020 election was rigged, Collins interrupted to say: “The election was not rigged, Mr. President. You can’t keep saying that all night long.”

Hello? There is way too much chapter and detailed verse out there to illustrate that Collins is quite vividly wrong.

But in this space today, let’s focus on another election altogether — an election that all by itself illustrates that right here in my own Commonwealth of Pennsylvania there is a serious problem with election integrity.

The election in question was not in 2020 but rather just last year, in 2022. The quite specific location of this problem? Luzerne County. For non-Pennsylvanians, the most familiar parts of Luzerne would be the cities of Wilkes-Barre and Hazleton.

At the center of the controversy is a lawsuit filed against Luzerne County, the Luzerne County Board of Elections and Registration, and the Luzerne County Bureau of Elections. The suit has been filed by two plaintiffs: county residents William French and Melynda Anne Reese. The attorney handling the suit is Wally Zimolong. Wally is a veteran trial lawyer, a conservative’s conservative, and he is ranked as one of the “Top 100 lawyers in Pennsylvania shaping state and national policy.” He is also an active member of the Republican National Lawyers Association and the Federalist Society.

Which is to say, Wally Zimolong has been around the block in terms of Pennsylvania elections. And he knows that what went on in Luzerne County in 2022 smells to high heaven…

…And as has been repeatedly detailed in books on the 2020 election — like Mollie Hemingway’s Rigged: How the Media, Big Tech, and the Democrats Seized Our Elections; The Parallel Election: A Blueprint for Deception by Gregory Stenstrom and Leah Hoopes; and Stealing Your Vote: The Inside Story of the 2020 Election and What It Means for 2024 by Christina Bobb — there is documented chapter and verse about the rigging of the 2020 election in Pennsylvania.

2024 could be the last ‘battleground-state’ presidential election

Every four years, Americans think they are voting in a national presidential election. But pragmatically speaking, the vast majority are sideline voters, watching a battleground-state presidential election from the fringes.

This opinion is quantified by 2020 campaign data indicating that the Trump/Pence and Biden/Harris tickets spent $883 million of television ads across just six states and held in-person campaign events in only 12 states — mostly in the same six. This revealing data is antithetical to a nation that prides itself on conducting free and fair country-wide presidential elections.

How fair is our indirect presidential voting system that practically ignores voters in 38 of 50 states? The culprit is the constitutionally mandated Electoral College — an antiquated system by which electors from each state vote for the winner of their state’s popular vote. On those occasions when a candidate wins the 270 Electoral College votes needed to be elected president but loses the popular vote, a majority of voters feel cheated.

For all those reasons, the people want change.

According to a 2022 Pew Research study, 63 percent of adults support “changing the current system so the presidential candidate who receives the most votes wins.” Finding 63 percent of Americans to agree on anything in our hyper-polarized political environment is rare enough that this demonstrates significant distrust and disgust with the battleground-state presidential election.

Viewpoint Diversity Score brings together leaders from business, civil society, and academia who are committed to preserving the freedom of expression and freedom of religion or belief in the market, workplace, and public square.

We recognize that powerful companies in the tech and financial services industries have emerged as de facto gatekeepers of essential services and become crucial mediums of expression in the digital public square. While many of these companies make important contributions to our economy and society, they undermine trust and the institutions of democratic self-government when they engage in censorship, enable cancel culture inside their organizations, or take divisive stands on controversial political issues.

That’s why we’re calling on companies to respect viewpoint diversity in how they do business, manage their workforces, and engage external stakeholders.

Through our Business Index and Resources we’re providing a roadmap for businesses to meaningfully respect customers, and other external stakeholders who hold diverse religious and ideological beliefs, foster viewpoint diversity in their workplaces, and reflect a commitment to the underlying principles of American democracy through their giving and political engagement.

Viewpoint Diversity Score is a project of Alliance Defending Freedom, one of the nation’s most respected and successful Supreme Court advocates, working to preserve the fundamental freedoms of speech and religion for all Americans. Collaborating is Inspire Insight, a Christian financial technology firm informing investment decisions on billions of dollars around the globe.
