FLAGSTAFF, ARIZ. – The 60 Plus Association, nationally recognized as the conservative alternative to the liberal AARP, today launched new television and web ads that highlight the records of Reps. Ann Kirkpatrick and Harry Mitchell.  The organization will spend more than $850,000 in Arizona’s 1st and 5th Congressional Districts on the issue ads.

“We have a big problem in this country.  Washington insiders aren’t listening to the folks who reside outside the Beltway,” said Jim Martin, Chairman of the 60 Plus Association.  “Seniors across the country feel betrayed by their so-called representatives, who ignored them when it was most important.  Now, the Medicare budget has been cut by $500 billion and many seniors may need to leave the coverage they enjoy for a one-size-fits-all plan they don’t even want.  This November, Washington will have to listen to seniors, because we pay attention, we remember, and we vote.”

Featuring local voices, the 30-second ad will air across the congressional district beginning on September 9.   Prescott’s Steve Reynolds and Bert King, speak out in the ad, explaining how Rep. Kirkpatrick abandoned the interests of her constituents to follow Speaker Nancy Pelosi’s big-government agenda.  In the AZ-05 ad, Scottsdale’s John Ady, Hank Bried, and Nancy Sumner explain the repercussions Rep. Mitchell’s vote for so-called health care reform will have on Arizona seniors.
