60 Plus Association Chairman Praises Trump Executive Order on Coal Trump is “Promises Made, Promises Kept” President

ALEXANDRIA, Virginia (March 28, 2017) – 60 Plus Association Chairman and Founder James Martin today issued the following statement in response to President Trump’s Executive Order on coal regulations:

“President Trump is doing what few politicians do in Washington; he’s keeping his campaign promises. By undoing job-killing regulations from the prior administration, he is showing the nation that he is a ‘promises made, promises kept’ president. By reigning in the Environmental Protection Agency’s rouge overreach, President Trump is delivering on his promise to maintain the nation’s supply of clean, affordable and abundant coal. Affordable energy is an important issue to millions of seniors living on a fixed income and President Trump deserves credit for making good on his campaign promise.

As the son of an eastern Kentucky coal miner, I understand the impact of President Trump’s executive action. It’s an important step in protecting the coal industry from harmful regulations that have thrown thousands of people out of a job and forced seniors to pay more for their electricity. On behalf of millions of seniors and their families who will benefit from these new and more prudent energy policies, I thank President Trump for keeping his word.”
