2020 Democrat ticket poses ‘existential threat’ to seniors’ health care

60 Plus Founder and Chairman Jim Martin Wednesday issued the following statement on the selection of Senator Kamala Harris as the running mate for Joe Biden:

“The choice of Kamala Harris to be Joe Biden’s running mate creates a literal existential threat to Medicare and the health care on which millions of seniors rely.

After co-sponsoring the ‘Medicare For All Act of 2017’, which was authored by self-described socialist Bernie Sanders, Kamala Harris went on to say she would outlaw private health insurance. She then tried to finagle her way out of that by claiming that private insurance would be phased out as Medicare For All is ushered in. We are not reassured. 

Let’s be clear. Medicare For All translates into Medicare For None. The current system was created to help seniors and retirees, not the entire population of the United States. Kamala Harris even went so far as to say it would be open to people who entered the country illegally. Under her plan, Medicare would be crushed and transformed into socialized medicine, financed by tax hikes of galactic proportions. 

Seniors should be terrified of what their health care would look like under a Biden-Harris ticket. It is socialism writ large and those who wore the uniform in defense of America against this ideology know it.”
