Group Tied to Big Labor Pushes Phony Obamacare Study on Small Business

60 Plus’s Jim Martin, “Families USA once again puts up discredited info to prop up Obamacare.”

(Alexandria, Virginia) – A new report released this week touting the benefits of Obamacare for small businesses comes from a group with questionable ties to big labor organizations, and repeats information that has already been debunked by numerous sources, including the White House.  The liberal Families USA is publicizing findings that conclude that 3.2 million small business are currently eligible for a health insurance tax credit courtesy of President’s Obama health care law, the very same information they peddled back in July of 2010 which proved both to be greatly exaggerated as well as highly prejudicial in favor of Obamacare.

Even in 2010 the Obama White House produced a fact sheet that conceded that only 360,000 small businesses stood to benefit from the tax credit, putting Family USA’s number of 3.2 million off by 89%.  Others have raised concerns that the group has close ties to the Service Employees International Union (SEIU), which stands to benefit greatly with the implementation of Obamacare. SEIU President Mary Kay Henry serves on the Families USA board of directors.

“Anything this organization puts out is tainted and completely void of all credibility,” said 60 Plus Chairman Jim Martin, leader of the nation’s largest conservative seniors organization.  “Not only are their numbers once again in a different galaxy from reality, their close ties to the Service Employees Union, who stand to make millions from Obamacare, expose exactly what their agenda is and who they are here to serve.

“Families USA is a group that exists for the sole purpose of putting out pro-union propaganda in an attempt to influence the November election.  Despite their skewed report, very few small businesses will actually benefit from the Obamacare tax credit, and in the long run they will all pay much higher costs when the credit expires.  Small businesses are being choked right now by the expense and bureaucracy of the President’s health care legislation.  They want Obamacare repealed, not to join in the misery.”
