Obamalaise: Obama Campaign Ignores Four Year Record of Failure and Malaise

Jim Martin, “He wants four more years, but what did he do with the last four he was given? He created the worst economic malaise of the last 80 years, Obamalaise.”

(Alexandria, Virginia) – 60 Plus Chairman Jim Martin, leader of the nation’s largest conservative seniors organization with over 7.2 million senior supporters, today called on the President’s re-election campaign to stop making empty promises and baseless attacks on its opponent, and defend its record of the past four years.

Martin made the comments while traveling through Virginia as part of 60 Plus’s national “Let’s Do Healthcare Right” bus tour, that is rallying thousands of seniors and their families to take action and demand Washington repeal Obamacare and pass real and affordable healthcare reform.

“It is amazing  the extent that the President will go to avoid talking about the last four years,” said Martin.  “It’s as if he believes that every promise he makes about fixing the economy, creating jobs or cutting the deficit is being made for the first time.  But people remember these same promises from four years ago and have nothing to show for it today.  At any given microphone Obama makes more empty promises, makes false attacks against his opponent, or sings Al Green, but the one thing he WON’T do is talk about the consequences of the last four years of his leadership.  It’s as if we are just supposed to forget that his policies have made America weaker, poorer and less prepared to succeed in the future.

“If the President truly cared about creating jobs, fixing healthcare, or cutting the deficit, then he would do the opposite of what he’s doing now.  Ronald Reagan showed how you lead a nation out of malaise, rebuild an economy and prepare America to succeed for the future, and it looked nothing like what Obama is doing today.

“Americans deserve to know how the NEXT four years will be any different from the last four when the President insists on clinging to the same failed policies.  We could give him four more TERMS, but Americans know that doing the same thing but expecting a different result is the definition of ‘insanity.'”
