President Kamala Harris?!?: The ONLY way Vice President Kamala Harris becomes President of the United States is if President Joe Biden is impeached or dies in office.
If Biden decides NOT to run for re-election, Kamala Harris will NOT be the Democrat’s nominee, will not have a chance to win the election, and will NOT be President.
There will be some interested maneuvering by the Kamala folks who will have to tread a fine line with regards to timing, evidence, cooperation, and the political reality of her chances to get to the Oval Office.

Trump’s Enemies Come Up with New Scheme to Take Him Out
Let’s say you hate Donald Trump and really, really, really don’t want him to become president of the United States again. How do you prevent that? Well, most would agree the best way would be to defeat him electorally, either in the Republican primaries or in the 2024 general election.
But a significant number of Trump’s adversaries don’t have enough faith in our democratic process to make that happen. So, they hope that at least one of the four prosecutions targeting Trump, two from elected Democratic prosecutors in Manhattan and Atlanta and two from the Biden Justice Department, will put an end to Trump’s presidential chances. Even though conviction does not legally bar Trump from running and winning, the hope is that, as a practical matter, there’s no way a convicted Trump could regain the presidency.
But there are some of Trump’s opponents who don’t appear to have a lot of faith in that course of action, either. So, they are now exploring the idea that Trump is already disqualified from running for office. State election boards, or secretaries of state, they say, can, and should, simply remove his name from the ballot in their states. There’s no need for a hearing, or a trial, or a legal ruling, or legislation, or any sort of adjudication process that might get messy. It’s already done. Voila! Trump is off the ballot. Let’s move on.
This magical result occurs, proponents say, by way of the 14th Amendment. Section 3 of the amendment prohibits anyone who has taken an oath to uphold the Constitution and then “engaged in insurrection or rebellion against [the U.S.], or given aid or comfort to the enemies thereof,” from ever holding public office. The 14th Amendment was ratified in 1868. Section 3 was intended to apply to former Confederate officials. It has “played no significant role in American governance since 1872 and was regarded by many scholars as moribund,” legal scholar and former federal Judge Michael McConnell wrote. But that was until some anti-Trumpers came up with the idea of using it against the former president.

As former President Donald Trump dominates the Republican presidential primary, some liberal groups and legal experts contend that a rarely used clause of the Constitution prevents him from being president after the Jan. 6, 2021, attack on the U.S. Capitol.
The 14th Amendment bars from office anyone who once took an oath to uphold the Constitution but then “engaged” in “insurrection or rebellion” against it. A growing number of legal scholars say the post-Civil War clause applies to Trump after his role in trying to overturn the 2020 presidential election and encouraging his backers to storm the U.S. Capitol.
Two liberal nonprofits pledge court challenges should states’ election officers place Trump on the ballot despite those objections.
The effort is likely to trigger a chain of lawsuits and appeals across several states that ultimately would lead to the U.S. Supreme Court, possibly in the midst of the 2024 primary season. The matter adds even more potential legal chaos to a nomination process already roiled by the front-runner facing four criminal trials.

The towering psychologist is threatened with losing his license if he fails to undertake training in what he can say.
The Canadian psychologist Jordan Peterson has become the perfect model for the threat of totalitarian mind and speech control. The College of Psychologists of Ontario has ordered Mr. Peterson to undertake social media training to retain his clinical license — and the right to call himself a psychologist.
The college took issue with several social media posts Mr. Peterson made, which the college deemed inappropriate. One would think his Ph.D in psychology and decades of teaching at Harvard and several Canadian institutions would trump a few tweets.
The scenario is worthy of George Orwell’s “1984,” Friedrich Hayek’s “The Road to Serfdom,” or the collective writing of Alexander Solzhenitsyn. When Mr. Peterson challenged the brainwashing order, though, it was upheld by three Ontario Court judges.
Mr. Peterson has a huge worldwide following of people (mostly younger people looking for meaning and rules to live by). His books have been best sellers. His speeches have been sold out. His podcast has a huge audience. His television documentaries are shared widely.
However, Mr. Peterson has two flaws according to the totalitarian left. First, he is a genuine conservative in the classical 19th century sense. He tests and challenges all the passions and emotions of the new left’s commitment to social engineering.
Trump vs. ‘American Carnage’

For as long as anyone can remember, politics in America has been a game of charades.
Generally speaking, there are two parties. Adversaries from those two parties get elected by voters based on promises they make to solve problems that matter to those voters. The elected adversaries gather in Washington to make laws that govern voters and spend money they take from voters.
The issues these adversaries fight about in Washington today — spending, wars, welfare, crime, Social Security, illegal immigration, abortion — are pretty much the same issues they have been fighting about for decades. To keep voters distracted, they occasionally make up new issues like the weather, or they change the name of an issue, such as when they talk about “gun control” instead of “crime.”
The only thing you can rely on these elected adversaries for — year after year — is never to solve any of the problems they have been promising to fix for the past 50 years. And yet — year after year — they make new laws governing your life and take more of your money to not solve any of these problems.
Next year, they hope to take your $2,056,804,000,000 and divide it up as they see fit and call it another year in the books of progress. Some people will get very rich, the government-industrial complex will prosper, politicians will bank huge favors, and a host of new unintended consequences will spread like venereal disease.

Whom are we going to believe: the lying liar of Fiji Mermaid fame or the dissembling deceivers of the Sentinel?
Relax. We don’t have to choose. Men were deceivers ever.
NPR Moves Its Goal Posts on Senility from Trashing Trump’s Age to Defending Biden’s Decline
NPR tried to reassure Americans that Biden using the short stairs to board Air Force One is a normal precaution to avoid ‘bad optics.’
President Joe Biden is in severe decline, evidenced by his numerous public falls and repeated inability to coherently communicate.
The Democrat’s public displays of clumsiness have left the White House scrambling to cover up his physical and mental incompetencies. Corporate media like NPR, which is known for giving its preferred political candidate a boost in the 2020 election cycle, are all too happy to join in the fun just in time for the 2024 election cycle.
An article from NPR published on Thursday attempted to explain Biden’s permanent switch from the 18-foot staircase traditionally used by presidents boarding Air Force One to a smaller set of steps. The outlet noticed the change began around the same time Biden fell during his commencement speech at the Air Force Academy in June.
NPR tried to reassure Americans that their commander in chief, who has suffered several notable spills in recent months, forgets certain people have died, and speaks in lies sprinkled with gibberish, is just taking normal precautions to avoid “bad optics.”
The year of universal school choice
In 1955, economist Milton Friedman saw a problem in public education . He saw a system aiming to create good citizens, to equip students with valuable professional skills, and missing at both for too many families. As a solution, Friedman suggested funding students directly and letting families, not the government, figure out the education best for their needs. He wrote, “Transitioning from a system in which money goes to schools to a system in which money goes to students will improve the quality of education.”
Seventy years later, we are finally approaching a world in which Friedman’s vision is reality. In 2021, seven states enacted new private choice programs, and 14 more expanded existing programs.
That’s why education reformers have rightly declared this the “year of educational choice.” The year 2023 is blowing all previous years out of the water. This year, there were 112 bills introduced in 40 states relating to education savings accounts, or ESAs, vouchers, tax-credit scholarships, and refundable tax credits. Seventy-nine percent of those bills were related to ESAs.
But mere vote-counting doesn’t do 2023 justice. What matters is that many of the school choice programs created or expanded this year provide universal student access, meaning all or nearly all students in those states will have the freedom to find an education that works best for them.
DeSantis’ Warning: ‘You Loot, We Shoot’
On Wednesday afternoon, Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis issued a stern warning aimed at individuals looting in areas hit by Hurricane Idalia: “You loot, we shoot.”
“Residents retain the right to protect their possessions. In this specific portion of Florida, there exists a significant number of advocates and supporters of the Second Amendment,” DeSantis remarked during a press conference, according to Politico.
“You never know what’s behind that door if you go break into somebody’s house and you’re trying to loot; these are people that are going to be able to defend themselves and their families,” the governor added.
“We are going to hold you accountable from a law enforcement perspective at a minimum; and it could even be worse than that, depending on what’s behind that door.”
It’s not the first time the governor acknowledged the serious threat.
In the aftermath of Hurricane Ian’s deadly impact on Florida in September 2022 — over 140 people were killed — the governor commented on a sign bearing the phrase “You loot, we shoot.”
Temporarily suspending his presidential campaign, DeSantis has assumed the role of overseeing Florida’s response to Hurricane Idalia.
Throughout the day, he convened multiple press briefings to update the public regarding the storm’s advancement and effects.
