Tennessee Senator Marsha Blackburn has earned a Lawmaker of the Month award from 60 Plus, the American Association of Senior Citizens.
Presenting the award on Capitol Hill, 60 Plus President Saul Anuzis called Blackburn “a tireless worker for the elderly who can be counted on to protect Social Security and Medicare.
“Senator Blackburn fights to protect the pocketbooks of seniors and to end wasteful spending of our tax dollars. She agrees with 60 Plus that seniors have to live within their means and so should our government.
“We believe in the principles of personal choice, free markets, and competition, not expensive regulations that will result in more and more resources spent on compliance costs. These are seniors with individual needs and a one-size fits all scenario will not work and they deserve better.
“The award is presented to Democrats and Republicans in the House and Senate who are a proven leader on senior citizen issues. We are pleased to present this award to Senator Blackburn who is someone seniors can definitely count on,” Anuzis concluded.
