(Alexandria, VA) – May 4, 2017 – The health care act passed Thursday by the House is an imperfect bill but it is a step in the right direction, and we applaud the efforts of President Trump and the House Republican leadership in this effort to repeal and replace the disaster that is Obamacare.

The free-market elements of this bill, and the repeal of Obamacare’s mandates, penalties and tax increases, represent a credible down payment on the promise made by President Trump and the promise he’s keeping.

As the bill moves into the Senate, we will continue to work for full funding of Medicare, which is an issue of tremendous importance to all of our members.
